Park Library’s Group Study Rooms and Collections Re-Opening July 2021

Next time you visit the Park Library, you may notice that the in-person library experience is much more normal. We’re fired up and look forward to seeing more of you in the building this fall!

You can once again study in groups throughout the building including in group study rooms. Lounge chairs are available adding comfort and color to the library’s ambiance. Although face coverings continue to be required for now regardless of vaccination status, physical distancing is no longer required in most of the building. The only exception is the Mary Dow Reading Room on the third floor which will continue to be a physically distanced space to support vulnerable populations and folks who prefer to have more space.

You can once again browse the library’s physical collections and check out items in person. Additionally, you may continue using the contactless book pick-up service. This popular new service was a necessity during the pandemic and will continue to be convenient post-pandemic.

We’ve increased the maximum capacity in our event and exhibit spaces. Although we’re not accepting event reservations this summer, during the fall semester, the Opperman Auditorium and Strosacker Room will be available for use by CMU groups.

Welcome back! Whether you’re studying on campus or online, the University Libraries are here to support your academic success.
