The University Libraries is following CMU’s Fired Up for Summer protocols for in-person services. The following guidelines are current as of the date of this blog post. We will continue to adapt as conditions evolve.
Studying at the Park Library
- Complete the mandatory self-screening before entering the Park Library.
- Masks are required at all times in the Park Library’s public areas regardless of vaccination status. Doing so is a safety best practice and a courtesy to our students, friends, colleagues, and visitors.
- Clean your work surface before and after use. Cleaning products are available throughout the building.
- Physical distancing of 6-feet or more is required.
- Plan to study by yourself – one person per table or carrel section.
- Groups may rearrange tables in the Copeland Suite and 3 East to work together while maintaining the appropriate distance.
- Group study rooms are not available.
Accessing Physical Collections
- Effective July 6, our book and journal collections will be open for browsing, and books can be checked-out in person.
- The Contactless Book Pickup service will continue.
Building Access, Events and Meetings
- Park Library building hours are posted online.
- Prior to July 6, please make an appointment to visit the Clarke Historical Library’s exhibit or reading room.
- Effective July 6, the Clarke Historical Library’s doors will be open during their normal business hours. No appointments will be necessary to view the exhibits or visit the reading room.
- The Opperman Auditorium’s maximum capacity is 25 people. Use of the auditorium is limited.
- We are not accepting reservations for event spaces or meeting rooms.
Changes effective Fall 2021
- Physical course reserves will resume.
- Limited equipment checkout will resume.
- The 1-day quarantine of returned materials will be eliminated.
