During the summer, we will gradually reopen parts of the Park Library building and begin offering limited services in the building. Dates and details are subject to change.
We continue to offer virtual library services and encourage users to email us at libref@cmich.edu or call us at 989-774-4000.
We’re setting up the building to encourage and support social distancing and will be establishing safe service practices. Thank you for your patience as we implement new measures that will help reduce the spread of the coronavirus.
CMU requires individuals to wear face coverings when in any enclosed public space on campus.

When will patrons be able to enter the library and review the new books located on the second floor of Park Library? Thank you –
Bruce, We eliminated the new book shelf about a year ago. We can assist you in browsing new titles online. In the short term, we will begin shipping books to CMU users and will be offering a book pick up service soon. The upper floors of the Park Library will open on August 3, 2020.
Good Afternoon, I’m writing to learn if students and faculty can check out hard copy books for research yet. If so, how? If not, when will the library be resuming hardcopy book checkout services? All Best, Tim
Tim – Yes, students and faculty may request hard copy books. Place a hold on the item you want in the catalog. Library staff will retrieve the items and will prepare them for contactless pick up or will ship to addresses outside the Mount Pleasant area. We will be posting information about the contactless pick up service this week.
