The Violin Maker

Samuel Zygmuntowicz has been working with violins since he was thirteen. He has become one of the world’s most renowned luthiers (artisans who work with stringed instruments), creating custom-made “fiddles’ for musicians who are the best of the best—musicians who have many other high-quality choices for fine instruments. Zygmuntowicz strives to crack what he calls the “Strad ceiling”: if a musician has a choice between playing a famed Stradivarius and a Zygmuntowicz, do they choose his?
