Detroit Public Art Tradition

Detroit has a unique tradition of public art that has been in existence for a long time. This link shares 50 of the city’s public murals, some of which straddle that fine line between mural and graffiti. Themes include advertisements, neighborhood pride and social justice statements, to name a few. Some are easy to discount as graffiti unless you look a bit closer.
