This workshop will be led by representatives from Clarivate Analytics (publishers of the Web of Science database, Journal Citation Reports, and more) and will introduce you to a variety of topics in scholarly communication of vital concern to graduate students and researchers. This Research Day will feature three hour-long sessions and you are invited to attend one session, two sessions, or all three. No RSVP required.

Here’s the schedule:

9:30 – 10:30 am – Where Should I Publish?

Support your manuscript submission decisions with publication and citation data from Web of Science, Journal Citation Reports, and EndNote Manuscript Matcher. See which journals are published in your field of research and how they compare to others in this discipline.

1:00 – 2:00 pm – Your Publication Identity

As a researcher, you want your work to be discoverable by others. Profiling and tracking systems like ORCID and Publons give your work visibility and make it discoverable.

2:30 – 3:30 pm – Evaluating Your Citation Impact

Use tools like Web of Science to find your published articles, run a Citation Report, and find out who has cited you. Learn more about journal impact factor, the h-Index, Times Cited Count, and Usage Counts.

Snacks will be provided.
