A Memory of… Pig Roasts with Friends

My family moved from a downriver Detroit suburb to the rural area of Barryton. It is approximately 35 miles from Mount Pleasant where there are a lot of pig barns and agriculture dedicated to raising pork. Several local friends found employment at these farms, and discounts on buying young pigs. The result: I’ve been to a couple of pig roasts where grilling techniques were on display. Extra credit went to the griller if they were able to smoke or cook on dead apple tree wood.
